Adenovirus

腺病毒是DNA病毒家族中的一员，是造成儿童发热性疾病的一个重要原因。最常伴有咽炎等上呼吸道症状,但也可能导致肺炎和一些胃肠道、眼科、泌尿、神经系统传染病。大多数属于自限性疾病,但对于免疫功能低下的患者或少数健康的儿童和成人中也会造成致命感染。

腺病毒

腺病毒的名称来自于1953年首次从人类扁桃腺中分离出的病毒。在化学或物理环境和不良的pH值条件下,他们通常很稳定，可以在体外和水中长期存活。它们主要是通过呼吸道飞沫传播，也可以通过粪口路径传播。有些人在感染腺病毒后会有扁桃体、腺体、肠道的持续感染却并未引起明显症状，他们可以在数月或数年中持续排出病毒。

大多数腺病毒感染会导致上呼吸道感染，如结膜炎，扁桃体炎，耳道感染,或臀部感染。腺病毒40和41型也会导致肠胃炎。对婴儿来说，腺病毒可以引起咳嗽症状，其症状类似于百日咳，病毒性脑膜炎或脑炎。大多数人感染腺病毒后可以自己恢复,但有时对于免疫缺陷患者，可能因腺病毒感染致死。

诊断

由于腺病毒感染会引起多种非特异性的临床症状，仅仅基于临床症状本身确定感染是不可靠的。实验室诊断是必须的，它们包括抗原检测、PCR、病毒分离或者血清学检测。腺病毒的分型通常是使用特定类型抗血清中和试验或通过分子生物学方法。

哺乳动物的腺病毒其特异性抗原表位（在六邻体的内部）是相同的，它们是参与宿主免疫应答的主要抗原。大多数商用腺病毒EIA检测为直接检测该组特定的六邻体抗原，它们能够从鼻咽分泌物或粪便标本识别大部分的腺病毒血清型。腺病毒感染的确认是重要的，它决定所使用的抗病毒药物，排除其他可治疗的感染性疾病，愈后结果的预测，以及及时采取控制感染传播的措施。
