Advancing Oncology Diagnostics: Innovative Molecular Reagents for Patient-Centric Testing
November 20, 2024 | 12:00-12:50 PM PST | Location: Room 208 & 209, Level 2
Join us to explore the shift in oncology testing from centralized labs to decentralized, patient-focused care, supported by innovations in diagnostics. Discover next-generation molecular reagents for qPCR, isothermal amplification, and NGS, driving new patient-centric oncology diagnostics. Learn how using alternative specimens like blood, urine, sputum, and stool can simplify workflows and ensure assay stability at ambient temperatures, reducing resource-intensive shipping and storage. We will showcase how Meridian pioneers these innovations, overcoming traditional barriers and empowering diagnostic developers to accelerate sustainable solutions. Meridian’s eco-conscious molecular solutions enhance efficiency and align with key goals listed in the UN Sustainable Development Plan.
About the Speaker
Dr. Michele Amasio earned his Ph.D. in Cell, Molecular, and Industrial Biology from the University of Bologna in 2009, focusing his research on the role of glycoproteins in HSV-1 entry into host cells. He has a rich background in biotechnology, having previously contributed to Promega and Base4Innovation. Currently, as the Senior R&D Manager at Meridian Life Science, Dr. Amasio leads the development of innovative molecular reagents for various applications, including qPCR, isothermal amplification technologies, and Next-Generation Sequencing. His work significantly enhances the capabilities of in-vitro diagnostic kits used globally.
