Goat IgG

Goat IgG is a passive interference blocker that works by preventing anti-goat antibodies from binding to the antibodies in the assay and causing a false negative or false positive result. It must be added in excess concentration so that enough alternative binding sites are provided to remove weakly binding antibodies that can cause interference. The effectiveness depends on the affinity of the interfering antibody for the Goat IgG. Goat IgG should be used in any sandwich or competitor immunoassay that uses goat polyclonal antibodies.
