Ro (SS-A) Antibodies
Ro (SS-A) antigens are extractable nuclear antigens comprising two distinct proteins: Ro52 and Ro60. Autoantibodies targeting these antigens are frequently detected in connective tissue diseases, notably Sjögren’s syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).The presence of anti-Ro/SSA antibodies is also associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. These antibodies are significant biomarkers in the diagnosis and management of these autoimmune diseases.
