Antiplasmin Antibodies
Alpha-2-antiplasmin (α2AP) is a serine protease inhibitor primarily responsible for inhibiting plasmin, the key enzyme involved in fibrinolysis. By regulating plasmin activity, α2AP plays a crucial role in maintaining hemostatic balance and preventing excessive fibrin degradation. Abnormal levels or dysfunction of α2AP can lead to bleeding disorders or thrombotic conditions, making it a significant marker in coagulation studies.
