Creatine Kinase-BB (CK-BB) is one of the isoenzymes of creatine kinase, predominantly found in the brain and smooth muscle tissues. Elevated levels of CK-BB in the bloodstream can be indicative of brain injury, certain cancers, severe shock, stroke, hypothermia, or restricted blood flow to the bowel.
