Amphetamine

Amphetamines are central nervous system (CNS) stimulants that are used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. They are also used illegally as recreational aphrodisiacs and euphoriants. Amphetamine is detectable in blood for up to 48 hours, 5 days in urine and saliva, and up to three months in hair. Certain drugs can cause false-positive results in urine drug screening for amphetamines including anti-depressants, anti-histamines, nasal inhalers and cold medicines that contain pseudoephedrine and/or promethazine.
