Beta 2 Microglobulin Antigens and Antibodies

Beta-2 microglobulin (β2M) is a 12 kDa protein associated with the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, present on the surface of nearly all nucleated cells. Elevated levels of β2M in blood or urine can indicate various conditions, including renal dysfunction and certain malignancies. Accurate detection and quantification of β2M are essential for diagnosing and monitoring these conditions.
