Description
Meridian’s Liquid Stable Ready DNA qPCR Mix (5x) (MDX364)
is a high-concentration, liquid ambient-stable master mix that delivers consistent amplification performance throughout its entire shelf life – even under fast cycling and multiplex conditions. While other mixes may degrade over time, especially when stored at ambient temperatures, this formulation maintains performance from day one.
With no refrigeration, lyophilization, or rehydration required, complete reactions can be stored and shipped at ambient temperatures, minimizing cold chain costs, workflow complexity, and environmental impact.
Key Product Benefits:
- Cold Chain Not Required – Store and ship reactions at ambient temperature — reducing cost, complexity and storage constraints.
- No Lyophilization or Rehydration Steps – Liquid format is ready to use — no drying or reconstitution, saving time and cost.
- Automation-Ready – Compatible with liquid handling and scalable workflows – ideal for assay developers scaling to production and labs running high-throughput tests.
- Minimizes Hands-On Time – Reduces prep steps and enables walkaway automation – ensuring reproducible results regardless of operator, shift or site.
- Reliable Over Shelf Life – Delivers consistent amplification across its full shelf life – even when stored at ambient temperatures and used in high-throughput settings.
- Designed for Developers and End-Users – Assay developers benefit from faster validation and scale-up; labs benefit from ready-to-run, reliable performance in busy, automated environments.
- Reduced Contamination Risk – Includes dUTP to minimize carryover contamination and false positives when needed.
- Lower Environmental Impact – Reduces energy use, packaging waste and temperature-controlled shipping requirements.

FAQs: Liquid Stable Ready DNA qPCR Mix
Since the master mix and the premixed assays can be stored at ambient temperature for at least one year, it is critical to use sterile plasticware and reagents (i.e., tubes, oligonucleotides). If needed, we recommend rehydrating the required oligonucleotides in nuclease-free, sterile water.
The assembled assays (Assay Ready DNA qPCR Mix, primers and probes) should be handled under sterile conditions, for example, using a laminar flow hood.
The ready-to-use assays dispensed in tubes should be sealed with air-tight caps to prevent evaporation. We recommend storing them away from light to avoid bleaching the fluorophores that may be used.
As qPCR can amplify tiny amounts of DNA, preventing contamination is essential, as even small amounts of qPCR contamination can produce false positives. Cross-over qPCR contamination can include cross-contamination from other samples, contamination from elsewhere in the laboratory, and carryover qPCR contamination from amplification products and primers used in prior qPCR experiments. The latter causes most of the false positive results seen in qPCR. Preventing contamination can be difficult and so laboratory procedures must be in place to ensure DNA from one assay is not re-amplified in subsequent assay.
Shipping and temporary storage for up to 12 months at ambient temperatures (15−25°C) has no detrimental effects on the quality of Liquid Stable Ready DNA qPCR Mix. However, for long-term storage we do recommend storing at -20°C. Repeated freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided.
When stored and handled under the recommended conditions, full activity of the reagents is retained until the Expiry Date printed on the label.
