Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. DNA Polymerase

Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. (50 U/µL) has been optimized to deliver excellent, stable performance without glycerol, meaning it is also compatible with lyophilization, as a stand-alone enzyme, or when combined with additional assay components in a reaction mix.

Meridian's Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. DNA Polymerase

Efficient and sensitive amplification with both wet (black) and lyophilized (blue) PCR tests

A 10-fold serial dilution of template DNA was used to set up two sets of qPCR assays. One set was lyophilized (blue) and the other left as a wet mix (black). Results illustrate that lyophilization of Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. does not have an effect on the quality of the qPCR, as both the assays demonstrate identical efficiency and sensitivity.

FAQs: Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc.

How is Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. supplied?

Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. is supplied as a glycerol-free blend of Taq DNA polymerase with Taq hot-start antibody at 50 U/μL. We also have MDX011 Glycerol-Free Taq HS 50 U/µL that has the glycerol‑free Taq DNA polymerase and a separate glycerol‑free Taq antibody and enzyme dilution buffer, to allow greater flexibility in developing PCR tests.

Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. (50 U/µL) is ideal for PCR kit manufactures and DNA testing facilities, requiring large amounts of DNA polymerases. The highly concentrated enzyme allows for concentrated bulk production of PCR master mixes.
Concentrated bulks in glycerol-free formats are also attractive when using automated pipetting robots and other applications where accurate pipetting of small volumes is crucial, as glycerol makes the solution more viscous.
Concentrated PCR master mixes are easier to lyophilize due to the reduced volume of the concentrated mix.

Glycerol is a cryoprotectant and is normally part of the storage buffer, where it serves to protect Taq DNA polymerase during freezing conditions. The high concentration of Glycerol-Free Taq HS 50 U/µL means that you get the same protection to freeze/thawing as a DNA polymerase that contains glycerol.

A lyophilized PCR molecular test will remain stable for up to 2 years at ambient temperature if correctly stored in sealed pouches.

Yes, Glycerol-Free Taq HS High Conc. is ideal for any multiplex PCR assays, particularly quantitative PCR molecular tests that require fast amplification, whilst maintaining both high specificity and sensitivity.
