Drug abuse testing traditionally refers to the practice of testing for drugs including depressants, hallucinogens, CNS stimulants, opiates, cannabinoids, and phencyclidine (PCP). Immunoassays for drug-testing are generally divided into forensic (DOA assays) and clinical products (TDM serum assays). Due to the differences in applications, there are distinct design, technical capabilities, and regulatory approval processes for each type.
