In parallel, there has been a rise in people having companion animals which have driven innovations in the animal diagnostics market, with new POC assays aimed at testing infectious diseases, osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. The overall increase in interaction with animals has also increased the prevalence of zoonotic diseases worldwide, demonstrated by newly emerging zoonotic diseases such as the Nipah Virus.
